Characteristics of the 12shi

Those possessed by the 12shi are readily liked by their corresponding animal. For Yuki - mice; for Kyo - cats...... and so the animals draw near of their own accord. Naturally, it's also possible to call them or control them as well. Yuki manipulated the mice in order to dig out Tohru's things from beneath the landslide.

They also possesss those characteristics particular to their animal. The cat, Kyo, has no problems jumping down from high places, while Ritsu the monkey, is very nimble. Kagura's tendency to rush headlong into things is because she's possessed by the boar......?

One other peculiarity, the colour of their hair is the same as the body hair of their animal. Kyo's orange hair, Hatsuharu's white hair with black roots, is all their natural hair colour. The Sohma clan has managed to explain this to the schools. Even so, those teachers and student council members who are particular about school regulations are not entirely happy about this.
